Another day, another book prize. In early March the Wellcome Trust Book Prize announced its nominees for the best book of 2014, fiction or nonfiction, that dealt with medicine. Hopefully a spoonful of these books will help the nasty tasting stuff go down better when you’re feeling ill? We shall see…
Recently Pushkin House, the UK centre dedicated to showcasing Russian culture, with a focus on Anglo-Russian cultural exchange, announced the short list for their annual £5,000 non-fiction prize.
We continue to play awards list catch-up with our look at the Women’s Prize for Fiction 2015 Longlist. This award was formerly known as the Orange prize, way before it was formerly known as simply the Women’s Prize. Now of course, it’s sponsored by a brand of alcohol! What could be better than that?
